At Deep-Healing-Counselling & Psychotherapy, we believe that recognizing these struggles is the first step towards profound healing and a more fulfilling life. You are not alone, and meaningful change is within reach.

Navigating anxiety, depression, and addiction

Many clients arrive with chronic anxiety, excessive worry, or panic symptoms that create an internal tension. Others face depressive symptoms like low mood, loss of motivation, or feelings of hopelessness. We also work extensively with individuals addressing: PTSD, substance use or addictive behaviours, often developed as a way to manage unresolved emotional pain. Difficulties with emotional regulation, self-doubt, and the lingering effects of past trauma are common concerns. We understand that feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain is a profound experience, and our focused therapeutic guidance is here to help you regain stability and control. We also provide dedicated support for first responders and military personnel.

When challenges echo through your life

Mental health difficulties and addictive behaviours can profoundly impact daily life and relationships. Anxiety may manifest as persistent overthinking, sleep disturbance, and difficulty concentrating, while depression can reduce motivation and make routine tasks feel burdensome. Addiction can disrupt functioning through preoccupation, financial strain, and impaired judgment. These patterns can erode self-confidence and create a sense of being "out of control." In relationships, anxiety might lead to withdrawal, and depression can create emotional distance. Addictive behaviours often introduce secrecy, broken trust, or conflict, leading to feelings of shame, guilt, and isolation for the individual, and confusion or helplessness for loved ones. Remember, “If you do not transform your traumas, you will definitely transfer your traumas.” These are not signs of personal weakness, but predictable consequences of untreated distress, which, with appropriate intervention, can be overcome.

Our Therapy Services

We offer a range of specialized services tailored to meet your individual needs. Our approach is focused on understanding and responding to what you require, providing effective and practical solutions.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

No two people are the same. We all view the world and respond to situations based on our personal experience. Some thoughts and behaviours that we develop over time can be healthy, adaptive and useful. However, some thoughts and behaviours that we develop over time can lead to distress and other unpleasant emotions. CBT aims to help a person develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to situations so we can function better in our daily lives.

CBT is one of the most widely studied forms of talk therapy. It has been proven effective for depression, anxiety, stress, OCD, PTSD and a number of other concerns.

DBT is a therapy program designed by Marsha Linehan. It was created to help clients who struggle with depression and anxiety. These clients sometimes find it difficult to continue living. DBT is based on the Biosocial Theory and is intended to help those who are highly sensitive to their environment, are highly reactive to events, often become overwhelmed with emotion, and are slow to return to calm. Their childhood environment may have been invalidating or chaotic. Many of these clients have experienced some form of trauma, and may seek perfectionism.

DBT assumes that clients are doing the best they can and they want to get better. Clients learn that emotions are normal and natural. They learn new skills and learn to apply them in all contexts of their lives. Clients may not have caused all their problems, but they learn to solve all of them anyway. Clients cannot fail in DBT.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

we have several therapists who provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured therapy approach designed to help individuals process distressing memories and resolve associated negative emotions, beliefs, and sensations by utilizing bilateral brain stimulation. It is known for its success in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), although its applications extend to a wide range of conditions, such as anxiety, depression, phobias, and more! Many of our expert therapists at Deep-Healing that are trained in using EMDR with children, teens, and adults.

Deep Brain Reorienting for Healing Trauma

The initial shock of trauma – that split-second jolt of threat – often gets stored in the deepest parts of the brain.

And when it isn’t fully processed, it can echo for years through chronic tension, anxiety, and an inability to connect with or regulate emotion.

So what if we had a way to access and resolve the earliest imprint of trauma – that shock that occurs before emotions even take shape?

That’s what Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is designed to address.

By helping clients process that pre-verbal moment of impact, DBR could unlock lasting relief from symptoms that resist even well-established approaches.

Emotion-Focused Therapy

EFT is based on the idea that emotions are central to how we experience ourselves and relate to others. This approach is deeply rooted in the psychology of emotional attachments. In emotionally focused therapy, people learn to identify, explore, and reshape their emotional responses to build stronger, more secure relationships. The core principles of EFT draw from experiential psychotherapy, person centered methods, and empirical research that supports its effectiveness.

The primary goal is to restructure negative interaction patterns and create new cycles of connection. The therapeutic approach emphasizes the need for a secure attachment bond. EFT aims to enhance attachment bonds, helping individuals understand and maintain stronger connections with their partners and families. EFT helps individuals move from emotional disconnection to engagement, from blame to understanding, and from distance to closeness.
